Everton welcomed Fulham to Goodison Park in a clash that promised to be crucial for both sides. Everton have been struggling to find consistency this season, trying to climb the mid-table and shake off a string of disappointing results.
Fulham, on the other hand, came into the game desperate to stop a run of poor form and gain some momentum in the league. Both teams knew the points were vital.
From the first whistle, Everton looked the sharper side as their matchday lineup. They pressed high, moved the ball quickly, and showed more urgency in attack.
Fulham struggled to get into the game, often losing possession in dangerous areas. The breakthrough came just before half-time when Idrissa Gana Gueye reacted quickest after a header hit the bar, firing home to give Everton a well-earned lead.
In the second half, Everton continued to dominate. Fulham rarely threatened, and their few attempts at goal were easily dealt with by the Everton defence and goalkeeper.
Everton’s control paid off in the 81st minute when Michael Keane nodded in from a corner, sealing a 2-0 win.
They looked more confident and organized, while Fulham were left frustrated by their lack of creativity and defensive lapses.
Everton move forward with three points and renewed confidence, and Fulham must regroup quickly if they want to climb the table.
Jordan Pickford – 7.5
Pickford was in top form between the sticks. He made four crucial saves, keeping Fulham at bay and giving Everton the confidence to push forward. His distribution was decent, though a few passes could have been sharper, but overall, he was solid and commanding, proving why he remains Everton’s first-choice goalkeeper.
James Garner – 7.4
Garner had a mixed but generally good outing. He completed 85% of his passes and blocked a shot, helping to disrupt Fulham’s attacks. However, he sometimes lost duels in midfield, which briefly allowed Fulham a chance to build pressure. His work rate was impressive, and he contributed well going forward.
James Tarkowski – 7.3
Tarkowski was reliable at the back. Winning five out of six duels and making five clearances, he rarely looked troubled by Fulham’s forwards. His reading of the game and aerial presence helped neutralize danger, making him one of Everton’s key defensive pillars in the match.
Michael Keane – 7.3
Keane was the hero in the second half, scoring the decisive goal with a towering header from a corner. Defensively, he was mostly solid, though he lost a couple of aerial battles. His passing accuracy was excellent.
Vitaliy Mykolenko – 7.0
Mykolenko put in a steady performance, making six clearances and contributing in attack with some smart overlapping runs. He wasn’t spectacular, but his defensive discipline and ability to maintain width on the left helped Everton control the game.
Tim Iroegbunam – 6.9
Iroegbunam was effective in a supporting midfield role, creating one assist and making key defensive contributions. Some passes lacked ambition, but he maintained good positional sense.
Iliman Ndiaye – 7.3
Ndiaye was energetic, linking midfield and attack well. He completed 90% of his passes, created a chance, and provided a constant threat with his movement, though he didn’t get on the scoresheet.
Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall – 8.0
Dewsbury-Hall was Everton’s standout in midfield. Assisting one goal, creating multiple chances, and dominating duels, he dictated the tempo of the match. His vision and control were key reasons Everton looked composed and dangerous.
Jack Grealish – 6.9
Grealish was tidy with 100% pass accuracy and produced three key passes, but he lacked a decisive impact in the final third. Defensively, he contributed where needed.
Idrissa Gueye – 7.9
Gueye was the game-changer. Scoring the opening goal, he combined grit and creativity in midfield. His presence broke Fulham’s rhythm and gave Everton momentum throughout the match.
Attacker
Thiemo Barry – 6.5
Barry struggled to make a consistent impact, missing a big chance and losing possession several times. He had flashes of skill with dribbles, but overall, he failed to influence the scoreline.
Substitutes players
Norberto Gomes Betuncal (6.4) and Merlin Röhl (6.3) had limited minutes but made small contributions, mostly maintaining shape and helping Everton see out the match.
O’Brien came on in stoppage time for a brief appearance. With just a minute on the pitch, he had no real impact on the game.
