Atlético Madrid vs Real Betis player ratings Álvarez (6.8), Alex Baena (7.2), Pablo Barrios (6.9), Koke (6.9), Giuliano Simeone (8.0), David Hancko (7.0), José Giménez (6.9), Robin Le Normand (7.2)

Atlético Madrid returned to winning ways with a composed 2-0 victory over Real Betis at the Benito Villamarín. Goals from Giuliano Simeone and Alex Baena made the difference as Jan Oblak pulled off a couple of key saves to keep Betis quiet throughout the night.
Real Betis played well in parts but couldn’t find the sharp edge in attack. Antony and Amrabat tried to lift the team, yet Atlético’s compact defending and clinical finishing proved too strong. Simeone’s opener came after a clever team move before Baena wrapped it up with a calm finish in the second half.
It was a night where Atlético’s experience showed again, and Oblak reminded everyone why he’s still one of Europe’s best goalkeepers.
Pau López (6.4)
A tough evening for the Betis keeper. Couldn’t do much about either goal but didn’t show the same confidence when playing out from the back. Saved a low effort from Álvarez early on, but his distribution put the team in danger twice.
Héctor Bellerín (7.2)
Probably Betis’ best defender. Worked hard on the right side, blocked several crosses, and tried to support Antony in attack. One of the few who kept going till the end.
Marc Bartra (6.5)
Tried to organize the backline but was dragged out of position for Atlético’s first goal. Read the game well at times, but Simeone’s movement caused him problems.
Natan (6.5)
Showed strength in duels but lost focus when Baena drifted between the lines. Decent passing out from defence, though the gaps between him and Bartra were exploited.
Ricardo Rodríguez (6.5)
Had a rough game. Struggled to stop Llorente’s overlapping runs, and most of Atlético’s attacks came down his side. Replaced midway through the second half.
Sofyan Amrabat (7.3)
Betis’ best performer overall. Won duels, pressed well, and drove the team forward from deep. Played a few strong long passes to switch play but got little support around him.
Marc Roca (6.3)
One of his quietest matches. Looked off pace, misplaced passes, and was substituted at halftime. Couldn’t cope with Koke’s control in the center.
Antony (7.0)
Always looked lively. Tested Oblak with a curling shot in the first half and was Betis’ main outlet on the right. His crossing was inconsistent but he worked hard defensively.
Pablo Fornals (6.4)
Started bright with good movement between the lines but faded quickly. Struggled to link up with Hernández and lost possession too often.
Abde Ezzalzouli (6.7)
Showed flashes of skill but failed to make it count in the final third. Tried to take on Llorente but got frustrated as Atlético closed him down.
Juanmi Hernández (7.0)
Played as the lone striker but was isolated. Had one decent header go wide in the first half. Fought hard but never really troubled Oblak.
Giovani Lo Celso (76')- 7.7
Came in for Fekir at halftime and brought life to the midfield. Tried to move the ball faster but couldn’t find a breakthrough.
Aitor Ruibal (69')- 6.5
Replaced Bellerín. Added energy down the right side but struggled to make an impact.
Junior Firpo (69')- 6.5
Came on for Rodriguez. Supported the defense.
Nelson Deossa (76')- 6.7
Tried to control possession late in the game but couldn’t influence much.
Cédric Bakambu (76)- 6.5
Replaced Fornals. Worked hard upfront but had few chances to test Oblak.
Manuel Pellegrini (6/10)
Tried to adjust with his changes but Betis lacked cutting edge. His team pressed high but left spaces that Atlético punished. Needs to improve attacking link-up play.
Jan Oblak (8.0 MOTM)
Outstanding again. Saved from Antony and Fornals at key moments. Controlled his box well and showed top-class composure under pressure. Made a brilliant reflex save late on to keep his clean sheet.
Marcos Llorente (7.1)
A strong display at right-back. Supported attacks, combined with Simeone on the flank, and stayed alert defensively. One of Atlético’s most consistent players this season.
Robin Le Normand (7.2)
Rock solid in the heart of defence. Won headers, cleared danger, and handled Hernández with ease. Calm on the ball.
José Giménez (6.9)
Did the dirty work. Made a few key tackles and blocked a close-range effort from Fornals.
David Hancko (7.0)
Good positional sense throughout. Helped close down Antony and rarely got caught out. Reliable performance on his flank.
Pablo Barrios (6.9)
Full of energy. Broke up Betis’ midfield rhythm and recycled the ball well. Subbed after a strong hour of work.
Koke (6.9)
Pure control in midfield. Dictated tempo, picked smart passes, and led the team calmly also with an assist that led to the first goal. His experience shone through when Betis tried to push back.
Giuliano Simeone (8.0)
A brilliant display from the young forward. Scored the opening goal with confidence after a slick move. His pressing and pace troubled the Betis defence all game. Looked hungry and composed.
Alex Baena (7.2)
Sharp between the lines. Scored the second goal with a low finish past López. Always looked dangerous when drifting inside from midfield.
Álvarez (6.8)
Worked hard up front, linking play and pressing defenders. Assisted Baena’s goal with a clever flick before being subbed off.
Conor Gallagher (55’) – 6.5
Came on for Barrios due to injury he picked up. Added energy in midfield and helped defend the lead.
Alexander Sørloth (60’) – 7.7
Replaced Alvarez. Held up play and pressed well from the front.
Antoine Griezmann (60’) – 6.7
Came on for Baena. Brought calmness to Atlético’s attack and linked up neatly.
Nahuel Molina (82’) – 6.5
Replaced Koke
Thiago Almada (82’) – 6.5
Came in for Simeone. Showed flashes of creativity and nearly created a late chance.
Diego Simeone (8/10)
Tactical masterclass. His team stayed disciplined, took chances when they came, and never lost focus. Atlético defended like a unit and attacked with purpose, a vintage Simeone win.
Atlético Madrid were clinical and compact, with Oblak, Simeone, and Baena shining brightest.
Real Betis showed effort but lacked bite in the final third. Amrabat and Antony were their only real sparks, yet it wasn’t enough against Atlético’s structure and efficiency.
