1. Aitana Bonmatí (Spain & FC Barcelona)

Aitana Bonmati is the real deal. And she play for Barcelona and Spain’s national team, and right now all the talk is that she’s the best midfielder in the world—and it isn’t just speculation — because she won the Ballon d’Or Féminin in double time, aproving she’s at the very top of her game.

This season Aitana has a pass accuracy of about 90% which is ridiculous, for someone who constantly wants to push forward. 

She does not shy away from taking risks in passing and most of the time the passes she makes come out perfect. Plus she has 6 goals and 7 assists so far this 2024/25 season.

Sometimes, She controls the game as if she’s the boss, she dribbles beautifully and inevitably lines up her teammates in space,  whether it be a quick one-two or a long ball over the top, she delivers.

2. Yui Hasegawa (Japan & Manchester City)

Yui Hasegawa might be soft-spoken off the court, but when she gets on the field she takes the ball away. 

The former Japan national who started her career at Nippon TV Beleza before breaking into Europe is now the Manchester City central of midfield.

And what stands out about Yui is her level of calmness under pressure. Her passing accuracy this season is above 88%, a pretty good number, especially going into big games like the Champions League.

She has 4 assists so far for the 2024/25 season plus 2 goals. Man City trust her with the ball because she almost never drops it. She ‘s like the brain in the middle of the park.

3. Keira Walsh (England & Chelsea)

Keira Walsh is the epitome of smooth and elegant football. She was born and raised in England and managed to make an impressive impact at Manchester City. 

But in 2022 though, Barcelona saw what she had in store and snapped her up for a world record fee. Since then she’s been playing well in Spain.

Keira is not the type of player that scores tons of goals or dribbles past defenders, but her passing is top shelf. She keeps everything flowing like water. 

Barcelona adores to keep the ball, and Keira keeps it flowing. She hardly loses possession. And her accuracy with passes this year is around 89%, that’s impressive.

She is so important and while she only has one goal and 3 assists it ‘s really her work.

4. Lena Oberdorf (Germany & Bayern Munchen)

Lena Oberdorf might be young, but she plays like someone who’s been doing this for 20 years at Bayern Munich. 

From Wolfsburg, when she was being noticed for being a strong, confident midfielder with big ambitions. Now she’s in the same direction here at Bayern.

Lena’s a tough, technical striker. She has an amazing passing accuracy this season. She is a short and, a long pass maker. She’s also a big reason Bayern stay organized. 

She already had 2 goals this season, 4 assists and a bunch of other good performances already, but she’s the engine powering Bayern midfield, no question about that.

5. Grace Geyoro (France & Paris Saint-Germain)

A player you just really love to watch is Grace Geyoro. She plays for PSG and has been holding it down for years. 

She came through their youth system, and now she’s one of the leaders of the squad, and every time she gets on the ball you can feel like there’s going to be something really good about it.

She’s been throwing really clean passes this season at approximately 86% accuracy.She has already scored 3 goals and 5 assists in the 2024/25 season.

6. Ingrid Engen (Norway & FC Barcelona)

Some quiet workers look like she’s doing it all herself – Ingrid Engen plays for FC Barcelona, and there are lots of superstars in there, but she makes all the difference because she’s is smart and tidy on the ball.

Ingrid has good passing ability, 88% to be exact this season, and that really isn’t a joke considering the fast and technical nature of Barcelona.

Ingrid’s biggest contribution this season so far has been in the midfield: she’s been able to help out when they’re playing top Spanish clubs, or in Europe, it’s always been her constant presence in midfield.

7. Alexia Putellas (Spain & FC Barcelona)

Alexia Putellas has won two Ballon d’Or’s for FC Barcelona, having excelled at leadership and technical proficiency, leading the club to several titles.

In the 2024–2025 UEFA Women’s Champions League, Putellas showed outstanding passing accuracy of 85%, and she’s added 3 goals and 2 assists, while still getting back to full form from injury.

8. Filippa Angeldahl (Sweden & Real Madrid)

Filippa Angeldahl started her career back home in Sweden and grew step by step into one of the best passers in the women’s game. 

She joined Manchester City in 2021, and since then, she’s become a key part of their midfield setup.She ‘s had about 86% passing accuracy this season, and she ‘s had 3 assists with 1 goal.

9. Erin Cuthbert (Scotland & Chelsea FC Women)

Erin Cuthbert has quietly become one of Chelsea’s most solid and reliable midfielders, she’s not the flashiest of the bunch, but when it comes to control, composure and tidy passing, she’s one of the best.

She even had her average pass completion ratio in the Women ‘s Super League and Champions League at around 86% for 2024/25, which is a lot considering she’s going up against box to box and big pressing teams.

She also doesn’t play with the passing game. She can take on opponents in the midfield and not every player gets the media attention but Chelsea fans know that for sure.

10. Kosovare Asllani (Sweden & London City Lionesses)

Kosovare Asllani is a great legend in women ‘s football. She has played for big league teams like PSG and Real Madrid and now AC Milan. But with all these years of experience behind her she is still one of the smartest passers in the game.

At this point in the season Asllani has about 84% pass accuracy and has made 5 goals and 4 assists.

She’s a leader both on and off the pitch, and AC Milan obviously rely on her creativity and experience to guide their attack and midfield.
